The picturesque paradise is now considered one of the best places to live in the country and offers residents both urban sophistication and an easy, suburban lifestyle. Housing design tends to be ranch-style homes and cottages, with condos and apartments in the downtown area.

Sunnyvale’s diverse community helps to provide a lively culinary scene with a wide variety of cuisine choices. Madras Cafe is a bustling South Indian restaurant known for its vegetarian fare. This casual spot doesn’t need all the bells and whistles with food this good. Locals love the rava masala and the onion uttapam. Weekend brunch here is a must, and there’s even an Indian grocery store next door.
For Middle Eastern fare, the neighborhood favorite is Dishdash Restaurant. Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, this casual quick-serve cafe offers a curated Middle Eastern cuisine experience and a menu of appetizers, salads, sides, main dishes, and a notable, curated wine and beer list.
The flavorful, bold menu at SAJJ Mediterranean has residents coming back every chance they get. The Mediterranean menu focuses on local, farm-to-table sourcing, as well as organic craft drinks, and the falafel and shawarma are even made in front of you, making this a delicious and entertaining experience.
Things to Do
In Sunnyvale, you’ll find plenty to keep your dance card full. Stroll down the historic Murphy Avenue, a bustling, tree-lined street full of boutiques, cafes, and eateries. Grab a coffee or a late-night drink, and make sure to stop by on Saturdays mornings for the Sunnyvale Farmers' Market.
Enjoy the perfect weather and maybe even land that business deal on the greens at the Sunnyvale Golf Course. Work up an appetite on the beautiful 18 hole course, and then head to the course restaurant, Old Greenwood, for award-winning barbeque.
Although there are plenty of parks to visit, Baylands Park is a neighborhood favorite. Spanning 70 acres, the park is home to wetlands, an overlook, picnic areas, and plenty of space for sports. Hang with the neighbors at the Sunnyvale Seven Seas Park, the unofficial community gathering spot. A family go-to, this park features playgrounds, a spray pool, and dog parks, so you can bring all the kids, even the furry ones.
